The nurse writes nothing down. The visit is still on file.

A child comes in with a headache. The nurse takes a temperature, gives paracetamol and calls home, and somewhere a notebook gets a line, if there is time. Here the visit is written on the palm reader as it happens, by taps, and the office sees it the same minute.

The nurse, then the child

The nurse identifies by palm, staff card or Emirates ID. Only staff given the Clinic right in the Back Office get in. The child waves a hand, taps a card or is picked from a grid of photographs, and the visit starts with the minute.

Why they came, in two or three taps

309 reasons in 17 groups, from headache to head injury, each with its Arabic name. The first screen offers this child's own earlier reasons and what the clinic sees most this month. A visit can have more than one.

Checks with the time

Temperature, weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen, glucose, peak flow and pain, each stamped with the minute and repeatable. A fever from 38.0 °C or oxygen below 94 % is marked red. Wound cleaned, dressing, ice pack, rest, eye wash and nebuliser are one tap each.

What was given, from your own list

The medicine, its form and strength, and how much: two tablets, 7 ml, one puff. The school ticks what its clinic stocks and adds its own. The list starts with the emergency stock: adrenaline auto-injectors, glucagon, salbutamol, glucose.

How it ended, and who signed

Back to class, stayed in clinic, sent home or ambulance: one choice, required. The nurse's palm signs the visit. A visit left open shows red at the office until it is finished.

The register knows where the child is

While a child is in the clinic, Inside now and the class register say Clinic, not absent, and so does the roll call if the alarm sounds. Back to class puts them back in school.

Every visit by day, and one signed page each.

The Back Office has a Clinic tab: each visit as a row with the child's photograph, class, nurse, why, checks, what was given and how it ended. Pick a day, a week, a month or the school year on the calendar. A click on a visit makes a one-page PDF with the nurse's palm confirmation and a code that shows whether it was changed.

Like the rest of the register, the clinic stays in the school: on the palm readers, the desks and the office PC, with no cloud and no internet needed.
